Sorry if this question has been asked a lot before.

If I plan on playing Ultra Moon, should I not even worry about finishing Moon and just skip it?

I've heard that the Ultra's are pretty much better in every way to the originals and that the story is almost exactly the same minus the last hour or so. Can you anons confirm/deny this?

No spoilers please. I'm actually really enjoying Moon.

It's literally the same game only with more pokemon and different story at the last hour just like tou were told.. Sun and Moon story is much better though, with a much better ending, but either way go with Ultra SM, it has a few extra things that makes it a little worthier.. Just don't play SM before, or you'll be playing the game game twice and get easily bored

If you’re enjoying moon, just play that. It’s basically the same thing. Wait till you’ve forgotten some stuff from S/M then give USUM a try.

And the story is for all intents and purposes, extremely similar until the 4th island. And idk if I’d say USUM is better in EVERY way (more fucking cutscenes, ironically). There’s another Pokémon on each route, but it’s not that big a deal though.

How is the difficulty? Is there any at all or is it like most titles?
Difficulty in Pokémon is pretty much nonexistent but other sites have said it gets "hard"

Ultra has a bunch of fights that actually challenged me. And no, I'm not talking about the meme boss; some of the veteran trainers have perfect IV'd pokemon with weird egg moves.

I particularly remember the Veteran on the snow mountain and the veteran double battle at poni plains as very challenging.

Other than what >>34754462 said, even with Exp Share the story boss will stomp you. The only two ways you can avoid it are to spoil yourself the surprise and plan a strategy in advance OR grind like a madman.

Its a smidge bit more difficult than SM, but its still Pokemon. As long as you don't have a mental deficiency, you should clear it with few troubles..

I'm not OP but I have a question of my own
Back in the day, I picked Moon but never finished it. I picked it because I hate playing Pokemon at ingame nighttime hours (the game just looks trash in my opinion) and i usually only play at late hours, so I thought the 12 hour shift would actually be neat, since I'd be playing Moon in IG daytime.
This was pretty much ruined for me because all the cutscenes are at night, and I fucking hate it. Is this still the case in USUM? If so, I'd probably just pirate Ultra Sun instead and switch my 3ds clock from PM to AM for the same effect.
That would be a shame tho because I find the Sun exclusive legendary to be extremely boring and pointless, while the Moon one looks cool.
