Why would you play Pokemon on the first gen Switch? Why wouldn't you wait for the refresh, which is surely Q2 2019 at the very earliest? Why not just get the New Switch Pokemon Bundle? Why must you bring harm and suffering to yourselves?

because there WON'T be a refresh or at least not one the way you're thinking, it'll be the same size, with MAYBE a little more processing power, but they ain't going to shrink it, it's at their ideal of small enough to lug around, yet big enough to run shit with.

you joke but you're 100% correct. the reason i haven't yet bought a switch is because usually after a year or two of release of a new platform the company makes a second gen with better specs and fixes any flaws that caused issues with the original release.

In terms of scale, Battle Revolution was possible on the Wii and graphically that shit holds up better than anything 3DS or New 3DS can pump out due to resolution and clockspeed limitations.

Switch is somewhat better than the Wii's successor even on ARM-based hardware and while the game might not necessarily be Battle Revolution in HD but as an RPG, the hardware is still lightyears ahead of 3DS.

The potential is what's got fans pumped.

The point was buying a launch console is an exercise in masochism, even more so on a title as big as Pokemon. For a lot of people here Pokemon Switch will be their first experience with the console. Just wait for the refresh, which should only be a few months from the game's release
