For all the shit that XY gets on this board you have to admitt it did quite an admirable job with all the tutorials. Specially in comparison to both BW-BW2 and even more to SM-USUM.
Gen 5 is my favourite but the biggest downside of it are the tutorials and forcing you to do/check side features like PWT, Movies or Musicals.
Gen 7 is even worse. You get 2 tutorials/introduction for Pokemon Center (Lillie on route 1 and Hau on route 2), mandatory Battle Royal, Photo Club, Festtval Plaza, Mantine Surf.
In XY the only two mandatory tutorials are catching Pokemon (which is present in every game anyway) and Trevor and Tierno forcing you into Daycare but that doesnt even take any time anyway.
Other than that its completely fine
Trevor just says you can go to Battle Chateau, he doesnt drag you inside
Shauna just tells you about PR video studio, doesnt force you to go there
Tierno just pops up in Pokemon Center the first time you're in there and drops few lines, he doesnt force you to go there like Bianca or Hau
Its incredible that between two tutorial and handholding heavy generations XY feels like a breeze with all that stuff. ORAS sadly is more like gen 5 and 7 (Lisia and Contests, Aarune and Secret Bases, Wally dragging ypu all the way to Mauville etc)
