Good potential but fucking ruined by endless dialog/cutscenes and Rirrie/Kanto pandering.
Mohn should have been the head chief of the Ultra Recon Squad or else removed from the games.

Fire & Grass aren't very good this gen so Primarina>=Decidueye>>>>>>>Incineroar

Ribombee, Wishiwashi and Mimikyu became some of my favourite mons...to say I completely overlooked cutemons back then...

I feel like I am the only one who isn't butthurt by the rise of Lando-T. This mon isn't broken in any way.
Metagrossite and/or Deoxys-D need to be (re)tested in OU.
Nerfing Dark Void was a good decision but it shouldn't be less precise than hypnosis imo.
Also fuck Z-moves.

Thought it was kinda dumb that Lycanroc got a new form in USUM to throw something new into the mix, but the hidden abilities of the starters are still not released.
Otherwise, Gen 7 was the most fun I've had going through the story in a long while.

dark void was nerfed by making it only usable by darkrai, the accuracy nerf was just unnecessary

Decidueye is a joke, Primarina's clearly hated by Game Freak and normies and only kept afloat (heh) by its overpowered typing, and at least Incineroar BTFO everyone by rising up this gen with move tutors, VGC usage and the inevitable HA release. Otherwise: many cutscenes, but Gen VII overall was pretty good. Just should have had USUM be release SM and polish it up as much as possible.

Actually, looking over your opinions, you sound like some Sinnohfetus/Unovabortion.

The defining word of this generation was *slow*.
Slow Pokemon, Slow story progression, slow gameplay for slow children. Coupled with a tiny Pokedex that isn't even the national Dex, and you just have a title that says "woah there friend, slow the *fuck* down.

Never before has Game Freak needed an option that just says "I'm an adult, I know what this stuff is" quite so much.

I honestly think the whole cutscene thing was GF being trigger-happy with their first time with full 3D and animations. Most of "features" also have something to do with those aspects like the photo club, and Poke Finder.

I really wish they would stop this attitude. They said in interviews how they put a lot of effort in the camera angles in the starter Pokemon scene in USUM. Something hardly anyone takes for granted. I'm worried for the Switch game that they'll focus on aspects like HD, that they forget about the actual meat of the game.

My first game was Blue. I just want new games to rely on their own content and not on excessive nostalgia but of course I may have a little bias towards gen V

The overuse of 3D already started to affect the game... Thanks to the new trainer 3D models, double battles are laggy to the point it takes 5 to 10 secs to just select a move, and rotation battles aren't even an option now.
