Why does there always have to be a "best" starter? How about favorite? I'm tired of these "best starter" debates. I may be a trainer, but that doesn't mean I like competitive play. I choose my starter from 2 things.
1: Design- If I like a Pokemon's design I'll try it out in battle. My top 3 starter designs are Incineroar, Charizard, Grovyle. It's that simple, these guys are some of my favorite Pokemon because I love the designs. Not stats, movepool, viability, just design.
2: Enjoyment- If I have fun using a certain Pokemon, and if it doesn't give me nightmares when fighting it, I'll like it. I had a blast with Charizard in Ultra Sun, he would 2 if not 1 shot many things with Focus Blast, and he rarely went down. Machamp was also boss, took hits well, and really did good damage. And Incineroar was always there for me. With these 3 fighting alongside me, as well as Dusk Necrozma, Grovyle, and Swampert, It truly felt great and I could always count on them.
