Solgaleo and Lunala were meant to be UBs but they have spent so much time outside of Ultra Dimensions that they are hardly related to them now, it's kinda weird since OUR solgaleo or lunala is the one related to the royals and alola and shit, but OTHER solgaleos and lunalas exist, like the URS implies by having both of them from their world.

So technically the "light trio" is not a conventional trio, Necrozma is not the trio master but rather a light stalker who just wants light to live, and Solgaleo and Lunala are the biggest light sources in their worlds.

That was AFTER the people of Ultra Megalopolis shattered its body. Before it was permanently in its Ultra form, or something similar to it, and it produced its own light just like Solgaleo and Lunala.It may not be directly related to them (then again, no legendary duo have ever been part of an evolutionary line), but they're clearly the same sort of creature.
