Dragon is actually unironically shit-tier as a typing now.

I'm actually serious. Take Kyurem-B for an example, which was used in Gen 5 and Gen 6 in spite of the Ice typing because base 170 ATK + Outrage was a ridiculously powerful
This generation, Kyurem-B's best sets have it not run any Dragon type moves at all and focus mostly on the Ice typing instead, despite it having 0 good physical Ice moves.
Take Zygarde, which managed to go from being an inferior Garchomp to being a superior Garchomp thanks to Thousand Arrows allowing it to not waste moveslots on shitty Dragon STAB (since Thousand Arrows is drastically better offensively than Dragon-type moves even ignoring how common the counters to Dragon-type moves are).
Those are the only two dragons that are ranked A in viability or higher, and most of the others are considered significantly flawed in the current metagame (see: Garchomp, Megazard-X).
Even in Ubers, where all but one the really overpowered dragons are, the problem is still apparent: The best dragons in the game are the ones that don't have to rely on Dragon STAB to do anything: Mega-Salamence and Rayquaza (and Mega-Rayquaza for that matter) both rely on Flying STAB and don't usually run Dragon STAB. Ultra Necrozma forgoes Dragon-STAB in favor of more type coverage. Giratina-O relies on it's Ghost STAB for damage purposes (although it does run Draco Meteor sometimes). No one wastes time using shitty dragons that still want to use Dragon STAB like Dialga, Palkia, Zekrom, or Reshraim.
