Not really. Yellow is over 14 million, BW2 is 8.5 million, Platinum is 7.6, Emerald is 7, Crystal is 6.3.

On top of that USUM just like BW2 had two versions so obviously the sales will be slightly higher.

Most of those number are the biggest at the very beginning

For example in the same time SM sold almost 15 million copies and over the whole last year it managed to sell slightly over 1 more million only. And thats the obviously bigger selller since main games always sell shitton more than the upgrades. So dont expect USUM to sell much more than that

Well probably not because, as i just said, upgrade games sell a lot worse than the main games and since SM managed to sell just one extra million after the initial almost 15 then dont expect the same million from USUM

That's actually really depressing. GF can literally put anything up for sale, even something as rushed and lacking as USUM and people will not only buy it, but swear by and defend it.

We have no power despite how long we've been fans. I'm just gonna get into a newer, smaller series if this keeps up.

You never HAD any power, the franchise since inception has been firmly aimed at kids, the devs think it's great YOU are still playing, but they go out to create a game for kids to enjoy above all else, if you're not a kid it doesn't care about you. Gen 4 and 5 was the best Pokemon's ever been. I honestly can't understand why the DS era is commonly seen as the franchise "low point". Sure it didn't have a great beginning(DP) and one of its games is still hotly debated to this day regarding its quality(BW) but in terms of sheer content and just overall fun, it was the peak of mainline Pokemon games(Platinum, HgSs, BW2).

Gamefreak knows this and that is why they only roll out 1-2 hype features every gen instead of blowing their load into one game. They know that just one of these is enough to print money.

As much as I enjoyed gen 7 as a whole, (it's my second favorite gen) I have to admit it's pretty obvious GF literally just copy pasted the originals into Ultra. If anything USUMs content could've easily just been sold with the initial versions. And now that I look back on it, they seem rather pointless besides the RR post game story.

Just give up. GF doesn't care about its audience and adds stupid shit all the time. I mean, Mythic Pokemon that can't be obtained by any other means but time-exclusive events requiring codes? What kind of dev decided this was a good idea when your franchise is "Gotta Catch'em all" but add in mythic Pokemon that can't be caught by the majority? Then you have IVs, the hassle of EV training, vitamins are terrible because of their limited uses, permanent natures, and the list goes on. Competitive Pokemon is like Competitive Smash Brothers: It's a fool's errand and these people are better off investing their time in a video game company that actually cares about balance.
