If they're going to bother remastering it, they should add in all relevant mechanics from later gens, like the physical-special and Fairy-type, and make allow you to transfer Pokemon to and from Bank.

It was compatible with most of the other trading and storage methods at the time, so I don't see why not. I would hope they wouldn't remaster it without updating the mechanics, but I would be okay with it simply getting ported to the Switch too.

This. I love these games, but I can still play them on my GameCube. They would need to add new content and update the games up to current gen standards. Physical/special split, new evolutions added since Gen 3, Fairy type, Bank connectivity, etc. and maybe some more (like 20) Shadow Pokémon to catch. Then it would be an insta-buy.

Importing Pokemon models and attack animations from Battle Revolution and improving the musical sample library ala Wind Waker HD sound like the most practical "remaster". But including a means to wipe and easily train EVs to help with the Colosseum tournaments would be nice. PokeBank Switch compatibility would be a given.

IMO, if it were compatible with Bank in any way, it would be the same way as the GB games are on the 3DS. i.e. one way transfer.

I liked them, but I don't really see a point if they are just remasters. Only thing they have over the originals then are probably easily accessible GoD-exclusive moves (shit like Refresh Teddiursa) due to Bank compatibility and better graphics.

Absolutely, so long as you can connect to the Gen 3 VC releases if/when they exist. Same with Stadium 1 and 2 if they had connectivity with their respective gens. Everyone should have the chance to experience the stadium games, even PBR.

Colosseum apparently sold 2.5 million, and XD sold 1.2 million. While obviously not the 10+ million seller the main games are, that doesn't seem bad to me. In fact, it puts Colosseum pretty high on the list of best-selling Gamecube games.

Jesus fuck i forgot about how good these games were until seeing this thread. IMO one of the very few times Pokemon Co. managed to make an original spin on the basic formula without it feeling forced/gimmicky. If any sad Nintendy interns/marketing folk actually browse on here I hope they see this thread.
