Well, /vp/, we have our first legit means of getting a shiny onion fairy. I've just begun soft resetting for one. Anyone else doing the same, or already had success with it?

I haven't purchased Crystal yet, but I'm looking forward to this hunt. Unfortunately I play through Pokemon games very slowly, so I won't be getting to it for a good while.

I'm currently giving full reign to my autism and trying to set up to chain breed a shiny Cyndaquil using the shiny Pichu from the odd egg, which I have yet to hatch. I hate the Gen II hatching mechanics so much and am going for a literal 1% 'mon, so it's gonna take a while, but fuck it. I'll go looking for it in due course.

Does Shiny in gen2 VC = Shiny in Gen 7 or is it DV related? Like gen 1 VC?

Both. Shinies in gen 2 are determined by their dvs, so once you send them to gen 7 they retain the shininess.
