Just finished hunting for bagon in sinnoh. Took an hour or so! I had my pickup mins with me so I did get a rarecandy as I hunted which was nice.

Anyone else playing older games and having fun? Post some stories and stuff here!

My buddy sold me one of his Pearl games for 10 bucks and gen 4 is the only gen I've never played. Just went on a trek to satisfy my balltism by getting a Shinx in a quick ball. I've also never used Mismagius despite it being one of my favorite pokemon, so I'm excited for that.

I have balltism too, it's a great feeling to get the mon in the ball you want. Mismagius I haven't used yet either but it's a neat design and it learns magical leaf which I think is super cool

I found a female shiny Pidove completely by chance in my Black playthrough right after I got my first badge. I was drinking with a friend at the time watching tv and playing and freaked out. It was great.

Now I have 6 badges and Unfezant is pretty okay! Shit move pool but Fly and Return is all you need in game anyway.

Yeah, it's not a HUGE change but it looks lovely, and I prefer the female Unfezant to male. My full party right now is Samurott, Unfezant, Excadrill, Galvantula, Lampent, and I intend on picking up a Mienshao by messing with the clock.

Which gen 4 game are you playing? Diamond, Pearl, or Platinum? Do you have your full team planned out?

I've got platinum and heart gold. I play both regularly and I'm in post game in both. I just love the aesthetics of these games and there's still lots of pokemon I want to catch, level up, breed, etc. The last week I've been training my crawdaunt and it's almost lvl 82, and lvl 85 is the goal so I'm happy about that. I want to have enough high lvl mons that I like to make three or four different teams.

That's good goals to make. It's honestly been a while since I did a run of Platinum, I'll think about it after my Black run, but I might just finish my VC Silver run and then buy Crystal. Still debating on nabbing Cyndaquil again or going for Chikorita this time. (Cyndaquil is the obvious best choice since Totodile can't learn Waterfall, but I feel like I pick it all the time.)

Emerald battle frontier is kicking my ass. Fuck breeding in Gen3 though.

i found shinies by accident twice while chaining in gen 4. first was a shiny machop on the first patch of a chain when i was going for larvitar in diamond. second one was meditite when i was hunting for bagon in platinum. both were on neutral patches with completely neutral shiny odds.

gen 4 really was the most comfy gen.
