Why is Larvitar included here? It's just like Solgaleo in that Ash never actually caught it, he was just its foster parent.

If you don't count SM so far since it's still airing, if you look at this most of Ash's unevolved pokemon come from BW, besides Bulbasaur/Squirtle and the Johto starters being in their mid forms besides Totodile.

Ash actually evolves most of his pokemon, or some of them stay in their second stages like Bayleef, etc. Never understood why people think Ash's pokemon barely evolve

Probably because of the Pokemania era still having a batch of the really popular mons (IE, the Kanto and Johto starters, Pidgeotto evolving only at the literal end of Kanto) didn't evolve, and pop culture memory of Pokemon's anime is based on that era.

Most of these pokemon are using old art or slight edits of old art, but I don't recognize a few:
sceptile's pose looks new
infernape's looks new
hawlucha's looks new
charizard's is very recent irrc
corphish actually looks new
oshawott looks new
pignite looks new

Did I miss any? Or were any of those older artwork?
