That's not a slight on this artist: they look like perfectly fine fakémon, and the Water one even does almost actually look real. But WHY is it that it's SO easy to immediately spot a fake pokémon most of the time?
How is it that GF can produce nearing 1000 creatures that all feel like they belong in the same universe, even though they have multiple different artists with different styles designing pokémon? And WHY is it so difficult for fan artists? You see a real struggle to make fakémons look real, and I don't understand why no one can do it consistently. In my whole life, I've only seen a very tiny number that look plausibly real.
