Keldeo is a Pokémon that battled against humans in wartime, and is presumably one of the last of its kind if the event in BW (its debut games) is anything to go by.
Celebi is a fucking time traveler, able to vanish from human eyes by crossing time and space. It hides in the future and watches over forests, occasionally bringing mementos like eggs from different time periods.
Darkrai hides away from human society in order to protect people; its nightmares leak out and corrupt people, so it stays away on a remote island, only becoming active and venturing outside on the new moon. The game even shows us how dangerous it is with the sailor's son quest in DP... and later the ghost girl quest in BW2.
Shaymin is the living embodiment of gratitude itself, living in a pristine flower paradise untouched by humans. It clears away pollution and restores the environment to its natural state. Its home is even blocked off to all but those who can express their gratitude.
Meanwhile Zeraora's lore is... it fights and shoots lightning. Wow. No justification for it being Mythical or special; its dex entries read exactly like any normal mon, and it's the third fucking raiju mon, after Raikou and Manectric.
