The JoJo manga was extremely popular in Japan since it's release IIRC (like, second only to DBZ in terms of popularity), and there are legitimate JoJo's references in some older games (a few Castlevania games come to mind)

It just didn't get much attention outside of Japan because all there was, was shitty translation (like Duwang).

The anime kinda started its popularity outside of Japan.

I know that, I just wish my friends, and anyone else that skips the first two parts, cared about hamon. The worst part is they literally analyze everything about JoJo, theorizing how specific stands would work mathematically. Only reason I stick with them is because they're the only people that talk to me

I tried reading part 5 after I finished the anime but the art is such a mess, I had a hard time trying to figure out wtf was going on.

Now I just need to cross my fingers and pray to DIO that part 5 gets animated

Seems like you've never actually read the manga. Part 4 wasn't that bad, and it's already been scrubbed. 5 was slightly better and 6 is servicable enough (scans are a little rough though, just like 5 sometimes was).

And that still doesn't invalidate that showfags and newfags think every muscular character and every pose is a joojoo reference.

The stand arcs in Jump went all the way up to 1999, where it moved to Ultra Jump after that. In that era alone, you had Yu-Yu-Hakasho, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Hunter x Hunter, One Piece, and many others.

Hell, the only "powerlevel" manga I can think of off the top of my head would be Dragonball (which really only relied on them during the Cell saga and some of the Buu saga) and Saint Seiya.

It's filler from when they get on the plane until they get to Dio's lair. The only good part is when Jotaro fights Dio

I'm not reading 8 until its finished, but apparently its pretty low on the list.
You may have heard part 7 is in an alternate universe. It has nothing to do with the pucciverse. Its more of a retelling of parts 1 and 3 with some references to 2. I have a big bias towards the western setting but it was honestly the best experience i had with jojo
