Zygarde is a Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagaan reference combined with DBZ Cell and JJ3’s/JJ4’s Hierophant Green/Echoes (both for 50%)
They are clearly influenced by all aspects of the JJBA series. Even the Alolan Hall of Fame sequence was nearly the same as JJ3’s 2nd OP. People forget that when it comes stylization that Jojo excells at that and inspires a lot of animes.
You could even say that nothing is inherently original in anime and this holds true for most art forms. Inuyasha feels like a proto-Naruto and I’ve seen entire series like RahXephon directly copypastes nearly all EVA plot elements and hardly reskins them. Any story feels new it you’ve never heard it before, which is why people claim we haven’t wrote an original story since Gilgamesh
