Pearlshipping is like the proto-version of Amourshipping. You can tell the writers were toying around with the idea of a new Ash ship in DP but it was too late in the series to make it a real thing, so they just focused on Ash/Dawn being close friends or siblings, etc.

I wonder how Misty fans would have reacted if Pearl got the promotion Amour did.
