I like to call that getting "outretarded". It's like getting outsmarted, but instead of doing something clever to be one step ahead of you, they just did the dumbest shit imaginable that you never could have possibly predicted.

Sort of along the same lines as that old adage: "the greatest swordsman in the world fears not the second-greatest; he fears the worst". The actions in a duel of the second-greatest are very predictable; on the other hand, you have no fucking clue what the worst is gonna do and your predictions go out the window.
