A never seen before evolution method for Eevee is coming in Pokémon for Nintendo Switch

To be fair, all of the Eeveelutions were completely new methods. Umbreon/Espeon were time based happiness evolutions in games where they were first introduced, Leafeon/Glaceon were introduced with all new field stones, and Sylveon tied in with the new Pokemon Amie.

We're not getting any new Eeveelutions. Eevee's Z-Move is called "Nine Evol Boost" in Japan. Eevee and the 8 Eeveelutions make up 9.

Game Freak won't retcon this move out of existence, and they won't call it 10 or 11 Evol Boost. That's the way it is. Eevee being on Game Freak's shelf is only because they are among the most marketable Pokemon. Nothing more, nothing less.

Every Eeveelution currently represents the original special types except Dragon. We are missing Dragon type
Why would they do every special type evolution, but leave out the only one they are missing? It doesn't make sense at all.

If Fairy had existed before the Spec/Phys split it would definitely have been a Special type.

I think the most likely next Eeveelutions would be Ground and Flying, though. Perhaps dependent on the height/depth of the MC, for the flying one you'd have to be at the top of a mountain whilst for the ground one you'd need to be at the bottom of a mine.

The zodiac thing is the closest to a pattern fire starters have (besides eventually having a visible flame somewhere) and grass....They seem to have a plant somewhere on their body. Or at least a leaf symbol, unless you count Chesnaughts shell as a plant

i dont think it would be based on where you are in the game... probably just move the joycons around when eevee evolves at a certain lvl... so i would say Fighting type (punching motions) and Flying type (wing flapping motion)

The moves would be moves like Cosmic Power, Swift, Wish and other moves that are currently Psychic type.
While the Pokemon would be along the lines of Beeheeyem, Deoxys, Clefairy and Maybe the Cosmog line

There are multiple aspects to it. It can mean light, but it can also mean mythical creature, hence why tapu koko and the like are part fairy. I think they go with what's best for that Pokemon.
