I always really liked Tracy.
1. He drew a lot, and I loved drawing
2. He didn't have a running gag gimmick that stopped being funny immediately after being implemented.

I kinda find it weird they gave Marril to him instead of Misty. Since once Tracey left they couldn't promote Marill on the main cast anymore. Marril was like one of those marketable pokemon the anime barely showcased.

Disagree. Brock did a bit in AG. He was always the older, wiser guy of the group. Always had advice for Ash, May and even Max at times.

If there was another male character to use, Tracey could have had another go imo. Or if it had to be another gym leader, maybe Brawly.

Marill was pretty big hype for Gold/Silver at the time, I just wonder why they didn't have Misty get it, so it could stay on the cast for the whole Johto region. Orange Islands was only 32 episodes and since Tracey rarely battled you didn't even see it much.
