>>34904951Just bear in mind it's my interpretation of things, but I feel it makes sense. I wouldn't say May decided to put her career "first" - it's more that she needed to prove she could, had the potential, even when times were difficult, dark, that she could still blossom, show that she was someone who could walk with Ash when the end came. In a way, while being a top Coordinator was an end, it was more than that, a means to an end.
The half ribbon is a reminder to both of them, that they no matter how far they go, their destinies are intertwined. Just like how the medal is apart now, it can come together again, belongs whole again. Just like Dawn in a way, their whole motif was seeing each other. Not just looking, but actually seeing.
>AmourI guess I liked it, but I found it a bit hamfisted at times, even if it was really cute, being something from their childhood. But I already knew how it would end long before it did, when people were adamant Ash would finally end, they'd be together, and it'd be a new protag next season. There was something uncomfortable the whole time screaming it wasn't meant to be. And honestly speaking, while he'll be a huge impact on her life, Serena already lay her path out ahead of her long before. The reason she had to leave, was because imo, she knew to become a Tripokalon top, she had to move outside the protective shade of Ash, and grow on her own. And that world she wants to enter, to win at all costs, may swallow her in the end. I could be very wrong, but those are the vibes I got. Especially the last episodes, there was this feeling of the door to her old life gradually being shut, a world that she had to be alone, walk alone. Especially since she CHOSE to follow Yashio instead of Ash. For her, Ash was a means, an incidental - it was a long time crush, but ultimately ended as just that, a crush. The end was finding her purpose, and then fulfilling it.
Also, wonderful if you end up doing art.
