I would really like another feature similar to Pokemon pelago. Its nice to see all the pokemon I dumped into my PC enjoying a nice lil island. Plus I just love to have a place to grow berries

Also I hope HMs stay gone forever

They pretty much have to keep something like this around for boxed Pokemon or else Lusamine's argument becomes validated again.

I'd say ride Pokemon, but they brag about how hms other regions need them. I'd also say the same with totems because they're kinda tied to the island challenge and they argued that as unique. I'd say UB, but from the UB interview, they said they based them on Hawaii's crippling invasive species problem. I'd say the same for regional variants because Hawaii has a shit ton of endemic species. Both issues are given a heavy spotlight by Hawaii itself, so I don't see GF bothering to do more research than what's shoved in their faces. Maybe pelago because Mohn's answer to Lusamine's box argument is that he'd just have to expand it. It's GF though. I also hope that trainers with set natures and perfect/ custom evs/ivs come back. Not just the major trainers either. I liked how USUM actually gave some of the classes some custom ones. It made it feel like they were more than just knowing what type of Pokemon was up next. Black belts for example had maxed out attack ivs and soon after attack evs at a point. The blackbelt training with the kid had his in hp though. Cooks had 30 hp ivs. Ace trainers usually had at least two stats maxed and veterans had perfect stats like important trainers by the end of the game.

Totem is just a name. You can easily have large boss Pokemon who rule over an area and you have to beat them to get past.

I feel like they could easily implement Ride Pokemon in another region, but at the same time I wouldn't mind bringing back HMs as an alternative (not a replacement) just so field moves like Sweet Scent and Teleport can make a return.

I think a nice middle ground between ride pokemon and HMs would be pokemon you carry capable of flying can just, you know, fly without using a move slot. You still have to have HM pokemon, but you aren't gimped by having Surf, Whirlpool, and Waterfall taking up 3 moveslots on your Gyarados.

I thought the whole purpose of ridemons was to abolish HMs as undeletable field moves i.e. QOL improvement. It made it so you can create a full team minus HM slaves/wasted moveslots. I know GF are notorious for going backwards, but why would they do it here? Wasn't the case for reusable TMs.

I concur. The island of Poké Pelago is, and always will be, a staple of Alola. I think what
OP meant was something similar to it being used in newer games. Think hoe Pokémon Amie
got streamlined into Pokémon Refresh.

As for what I'd personally want to see, I'd like to see the concept of regional variants make it
into other regions. Game Freak themselves admitted that they are worried about the
number of Pokémon getting too high too quickly, and regional variants seem to be a
good way around giving us more new creatures without overloading the overall
National Dex number per generation (even if the National Dex remains in Pokémon Bank
instead of the series proper as of the present).

Ride pokemon, or at least some kind of HM substitute in place of HMs themselves. Like if they can't (or just don't want to add) give the player a series of key items that function like HMs normally would. For example:

-hedge clippers in place of cut
-a sledgehammer in place of rock smash
-an on-demand taxi-esque service in place of fly
-a boogie board or surfboard in place of surf
