That's not fair, Tierno isn't all that of a pokemon trainer, he's more a dancer, a "gimmick friend". Also, we have 4 friends in XY, so, you can choose more than 1 to cherrypick. Serena/Calem is more of the "pokemon trainer" friend.

Yes, maybe you're right about cherry picking.
But i'm not doing it to shit on the games. If anything I'm still upset that game freak made the Gen 6 rivals team so stupidly easy. Even If he was a gimmick friend, he is still a rival. That's how I feel atleast.
Hell they don't even have an item!
That battle at the bridge was suposed to be the moment were all of you showed each other what you learned in the journey, no?
It should have been more memorable. Specially considering you only battle them twice in the main game.

This is one of my biggest gripes with X/Y.

Your rival is supposed to be the child of ace trainers; yet in their final battle against you three of their Pokémon don't have full movesets.

It would be fine if it was confined to shit trainers like Tierno but your supposed super serious rival can't even pick 4 moves. It's a terrible gameplay decision that dumbs down in-game fights even further.

I played the games on release. Fire Spin is a shitty luck move, just like Wrap and Bind, and no dedicated user of any of these three moves ever made it above UU with the exception of Dragonite, a pseudo-legendary, and Victreebel, who had much better sets anyway
