I just don't think introducing a new main character in the last 10% of the series and focusing on her instead of spending more time on the conclusion of the series was good writing

Tartakovsky made the script, once again CN/AS fucks him over, halving his funds, time, and episode restraints to ten episodes, he cut out what he thought was unnecessary and we're stuck with a rushed ending. While I do agree that some Ashi related parts should've been cut out (and a lot of other fillers), Genndy was forced to make arbitrary changes to appease the producers.
