Nah, but close. Like a Dark and Ghost connection. Cosmic type could be used for Pokemon from space or Pokemon with connections to space. Lines like the Comsog line (they have no business being Psychic) Elgyem line, and Cleffa line would get changed. Moves like Comsic Power and the like would get changed too. I don't know about weaknesses though.

Dark and Ghost don't have much of a connection outside of mechanically what types are weak to them; criminals and spirits are two distinct classifications.

Point is, Psychic type is all occult type shit; aliens, conspiracy theories, pseudosciences, and the like. If Alex Jones rants about it, it's probably a Psychic type.

I'd say they sometimes use Psychic just to show a Pokemons intelligence, like Reuniclus or Metagross. In terms of connection Dark and Ghost are close but farther than Rock and Ground.

Aliens and the like are Psychic probably because of stereotypes, but again, Cosmog has no business being Psychic. The type doesn't really suit it and some others as well, and there's (arguably) enough to make it a type.

The only good type is Wind-type to replace Flying, and make it a separate "sub-type" (like how Diglett can't be lifted with Telekinesis), so all the pokemon that should be flying, but already have two types (like Flygon and Druddigon) don't have to waste their ability slot on Levitate, and pokemon that can clearly float, but don't have Levitate can be affected properly by ground-based moves.

The only problem with this typing that i can see, it's that it would be hard to make new moves, and make those moves not overlap with other typíngs, we could move to cosmic moves like meteor punch, cosmic power, gravity, draco meteor, swift and other shit, and make moves like asteroid belt, a move that makes asteroids move around you and be pretty much a rocky helmet. wormhole, a move that switches you or your opponent. cold space, a move that hurts and has a chance of freezing. blackhole, a move that makes everyone on the field lose their items. lightspeed, a priority move that is pretty much extreme speed, and other stuff that is more fantasy, like laser beam, a special dmg move. weird technology, a buff move that would up your attack and special attack. abduction, a move that would work pretty much like sky drop, but doesn't unable your own pokemon, just the oponent.
