Assuming you're at the point where you're guaranteed 4 perfect IVs, it generates the mon like normal.
Then it checks if it has 4 ivs that are perfect.
If not, it makes 1 perfect.
Then it checks again.
If it still doesn't have 4 perfect IVs, it raises another.
Then it checks again, etc.
It does this a maximum of 4 times, because when it checks, if the mon has 4 perfect IVs, it stops.
So, if the mon that is initially generated has 0, 1, 2, or 3 perfect IVs, it will be increased to 4 perfect IV,s because that's what you're guaranteed.
If it is generated already having 4 perfect IVs, none are increased.
If it is generated already having 5 perfect IVs, none are increased.
If it is generated already having 6 perfect IVs, none are increased.
So, for an SOS mon to have 5 or 6 perfect IVs, it has to be generated that way to begin with, meaning the odds are not increased.
