Why is pic related so fucking expensive?

I'm doing a franchise binge, playing through all the gens, completing all the dexes, uploading teams to Poke Bank, etc. Currently on Gen III and trying to buy this fucker, but I can't find anything below $100. Any clue why>

That depends. How old are you?
Because for many of us surfing pikachu was HUGE growing up and it hurt leaving it behind after the hardware switch.

I remember getting Pokémon Box with Colloseum. I don't remember buying it but I still have a copy and I definitely got it around the same time as Colloseum, and a quick Google search suggests that, yes, in all parts of the EU they were shipped together in the same box.

Yeah, mine had one of the flappy disc holders with Box in it. I'm in the UK, and as far as I remember there was nothing else with the game/it wasn't a bundle like with a GameCube console or anything, just Colosseum and Box.

Also this was my first console since PS1
When I booted colloseum for the first time the graphics blew me away, funny how ugly they look now.

Just that zigzagoon animation when it gets hit and rushes back around the trainer´s legs was jaw dropping

First 3D gen graphics were pretty horrible (or well, second, there was some dabbling earlier), the jump from it to the next generation felt like going from an Atari to a NES.

Pokémon Stadium looks too great in retrospect.

2bh the jump from BW2 to XY graphics wise blew me away at the time. Now it doesn't seem so special, but at the time I think that was part of why XY was so enjoyable at launch

XY had an exquisite presentation and knew how to use stereoscopic 3D to make an impact, even if it was absent most of the game and killed the framerate because they though leaves floating in the wind were necessary.

Anyway the technology was and has been there for a while.
A brand new type of visual representation followed by an enormous leap in quality is something that I don't see happening anymore. People scorned 3DS and VR is dead in the water so that last venue is dead (not like it mattered much gameplay-wise either).
