They can't make cross-gen evolutions anymore unless it's a split tree evo because of the Eviolite.

The last item they removed was the Beserk Gene, which was in Gen II.

GameFreak will never remove items with in-battle effects again.

Eviolite barely even helped out preevos. The only one that became notable at all is Chansey. The rest either fulfill a different niche or are downright inferior.

Because megas are just an ultimate form of the same pokemon.

They aren't evolving naturally, so their appearance doesn't change at all.

You're missing the point. It's not about viability, it's about continuity issues. Eviolite didn't work on, for example Dunsparce, for gens 5-7, but suddenly it does in 8 when we realized it can evolve in this hypothetical timeline.

That didn't stop Clefable or Granbull from resisting fighting type attacks out of nowhere, so really who knows what's really going on at GF HQ

You're right it wouldn't be true if more people liked them than hated them. The problem with that being that they were reviled by the majority of the fanbase at the time.
The few that weren't hates were the few that didn't shit on the design of the original Mon like Weavile.

No shit Tyranitar would be broken with Eviolite. But obviously GF wouldn't ever give him a regular evolution so why even bring it up?

For the ones that you mentioned only 3 had a chance of getting a regular evolution and only Scizor would possibly be viable with eviolite (reminder that viable doesn't means broken).
