Loved them when I was younger. Probably wouldn't shiny hunt in them because it seems like a pain in the ass. I think my favourite thing about them was the music.

I just remember the postgame facilities being hard as balls to beat because the games had virtually no grinding options and I'm not a chump who hooks up his gba to the gamecube

colosseum mode was fun, though. pity xd had nothing like it

Honestly even just a double battle filled tropical desert region is an attractive enough idea. Shadow Pokemon could always become a lore aspect of the game but have no actual impact on the main game. Or maybe even introduce an entirely new villainous team interested in rebirthing Greevil's original plan. The possibilities here are quite abundant.

Are you fucking insane/retarded?
Colo shinies are incredibly hard to come by to begin with but there's no guarantee they'll retain Shininess post-purification.
In XD there are no shinies period without hacking, outside of the wild mon at Poke Spots IIRC

I'm hunting in Colosseum, and purification does not affect shininess. Please do your research before you spew out incorrect information

I really miss ECKS DEE's pacing. The Pokemon formula deserves such a change now and then. Really surprised they haven't attempted this in 13 years.

One of my favorite things about Sun was the random competent trainers scattered about. XD was a lot like that, except you knew when you were battling a good trainer. Also, the town-only approach made for something that felt more like a modern console RPG. I think Sun should have put more interesting stuff in its cities, since its routes were pretty bare bones.
