Good stuff. I'm thinking myself, I dropped out of competitive at gen 4, don't know how the meta changed since then, so this should be fun. Will probably use the old mon and tactics, and get my ass kicked

everybody and their mother will also run a garchomp, so it's going to be your chomp vs theirs plus a counter/coverage

Is there anywhere with good discussion on this format?

The original Kanto Classic was one of my favorites and I have really high hopes for this format as well, but haven't found anywhere with much analysis or conversation about the meta.

I would guess it's not going to be much different than gen 4 meta, which excites me, since there will be no megas or z moves. You just have to take the extra moves and abilities that have been introduced since, as well as items, into account. Best bet would be a look at smogon

Personally, I wish they allowed us to use Megas. There are some eligible Pokemon that have Megas but aren't very good without them (Lopunny, for instance), making them a lot less viable for this tournament.
