Hi I'm currently working on the translation of Pokémon Past/Future or as you know it: "Pokémon RPG for Nintendo Switch". I want to share some details about the games with you.
First things first, if you expect a Breath of the Wild like Revolution you gonna be disapoinnted.
Pokemon Past and Future is clearly based on a improved Version of GameFreaks Sun and Moon Engine. The Artstyle, Layout of the World etc. is very similar to Sun and Moon. But of coure it looks way better than the 3DS Games. It runs with 1080p @ 60 FPS in Docked Mode and features better textures, higher polycount, better animations and more. Believe me it just looks gorgeous.
The biggest change is that you can control the camera freely for the first time ever. The various preset cameras of the last games are gone. It's 100% Third Person.
The Battlesystem is still the same turn-based BS we all know and love. But it's faster thanks to faster loading and the new UI. It's the first game after more than a decade that can't you the second touchscreen for the Battle UI. The four Attacks can be used directly by pressing A/B/X or Y. And in Handheld Mode you can also use the touchscreen by pressing the attacks that are shown in the bottom right corner.
Pokemon Past and Future's Region is based on the United Kingdom and is called the Cyne-Region (based on the old english word cynedom wich means Kingdom)
Both Games take place in the same time (present), the story is about timetravel. In Pokemon Past you will travel back to the past in the Cyne-Region 3000 Years before the present. And in Pokemon Future you will travel to the future of the Cyne-Region 3000 Years after the present. Unfortunally I don't know if you can explore the full region in the past/future or just designated areas.
One last thing I can say is that there will be voice-over for the cutscenes.
I don't know when they will announce it. I think before E3 because they want release it by the end of the year.
