Yes and the game will look great and play better than the 3DS ones did, I just love knowing that /vp/ doesn't play video games other than Pokemon so they don't know this and think it means that it's going to be a first person MMO.

We know that they're using it. It's also going to make these games really, really easy to hack and bring to PC, which GameFreak is going to try to use as "Fuck you for making us make a console game" to Nintendo.

The engine doesn't really correlate to the graphics THAT much. If Gamefreak wanted, they could recreate the look of the 3DS games in Unreal without much trouble.

I have a feeling most people don't know what engines are and how they work. It's kinda like how people freaked out about the Dark Souls remaster using the DS3 engine (which turned out to be untrue), and they thought it meant it was going to play like DS3. Changing the engine doesn't alter stat values on equipment.

Gamefreak/The Pokemon Company are basically one and the same. In the end, Nintendo really has no say in it since they are only majority shareholder of Pokemon Company, but they can't force the company to make an outside studio make it's games.

Nintendo owns most of the Pokemon Company and the trademarks associated with the series, they could put it to vote to no longer allow the Pokemon Company to give GameFreak the green light to make the games, a vote they would win by default since they own 66% of the company.

I think as part of the rights behind founding the Pokémon Company was GF retained sole control over the IP, so no, I'm pretty sure Nintendo can't just take it off them.
You're also forgetting the Japanese culture of honour and doing something like that (particularly when they are still making money for Nintendo) would be dishonourable (and whatever criticisms you level at Nintendo, treating their studios like shit is not something that sticks).

The company that is making an UE4 Pokemon game is Creatures Inc, the creators of Detective Pikachu.

Gen 2 says "Hi!".

GB and GBC are not the same thing.

G/S were for GB but had GBC extras while Crystal was for GBC ONLY. A mid-Gen jump which many morons tried to say didn't happen AND a follow up on the new platform rolled into one.

This not only means it was not weird to expect US/UM to be on Swtich as well as 3DS - OR EVEN INSTEAD OF 3DS and that you're wrong because while it definitely won't be a remake another follow up is definitely possible.

Fucking tired of having to explain this series newfags who can't figure out how to use Google.

It would actually somewhat make sense since they had a proof of concept version of Gen 7 working on it already meaning a shorter dev time is reasonable making 2018 even more possible.
