>>34894494It is a localization error. In the original, the two badges were the Pink Badge and the Gold Badge, a reference to their city names (Sekichiku = Pink, Yamabuki = Gold). But since the badges' English names are based on descriptions or types rather than color, it made more sense for Marsh to be associated with Poison. But the localization fucked up and thought Koga, the Poison-type gym leader, was associated with badge #6. I certainly can't blame them. Koga is really far out compared to the other gyms; Sabrina, Erika, and Surge are right next to each other.
