I've never played pic related, and it's the only mainline pokemon game I've never played, is it worth playing? Gen 5 was definitely one of my least favorite, do these sequels redeem it at all? Or should I just play one of the mystery dungeon games?

I feel you, man. Samurott is a-ok imo but Dewott's design is so good that Samurott looks like a turd in comparison.

By the way, you can obtain the Eviolite by the 3rd gym, very early into the game
