I'd agree toxic is fair. You still have to be able to survive long enough to stall. Cheese way is the zoroark trick and people who run protect in-game.

If T-wave had missed it would have played out differently. I just got lucky and feel really cheated after reading all the horror stories.

I just couldn't beat it, period. My team of pokemon had absolutely no synergy, were all slowmons (with bad defenses bar a Toxapex), and every single one of them were weak to Photon Geyser. I could barely get a hit in, even scumming with the focus sash you get from an NPC and desperately trying all the tricks in the book. Paralysis, Toxic, stat decreasing moves, everything. Couldn't even get it in the red, even with crits. Had to cave and use a team cobbled together from my Moon version. How's THAT for failure OP?

Then I did some calcs and found out if I didn't get the def drop that Incineroar couldn't have KO'd the Necrozma. Sometimes I love RNG.

I used to use them to revive after battles but every, single, fucking time an NPC would heal my team a few moments later.

Also Pelipper, but it'd get OHKOd for sure.

I got lucky with having those two though to be fair. Metagross resists everything while A-Muk isn't weak to any one move and can tank a single hit.

I go through most games with NFEs to get level up moves sooner, and make the game more of a challenge, but everyone on /vp/ bitching about this battle made me second-guess that the game was legitimately difficult for once, so I evolved most of my party. I even prepped a Curse Bannette as a contingency plan.

But I had a level 50-summat Eviolite Munchlax that walled the fuck out of it.

Maybe you guys just suck at this game.

It doesn't even have to be a psychic-weak Pokemon. If Zoroark is disguised as a Pokemon neutral against all of its attacks, it'll default to spamming the psychic move. I accidentally walled it this way without meaning to.

I discovered a thing where if you leave them on the farm and leave the game on, they'll level up while you sleep or something. unfortunately they leveled all the way to max level, but a lot of them were stuck at like 50, so i had to devolve and grind at the Metro building again

Both Focus Sash and Choice Specs are gifts from special trainers after defeating them. Others give you stuff like Red Card and Flame Orb. But since they're optional and you need to meet a condition to battle them, they're easy to miss.

Huh, I was just this morning thinking of doing a water monotype run of US, how was it? I was thinking of using Primarina, Pelliper, Slowbro, Swampert, Poliwrath and Jellicent. Maybe Wishiwashi, Cloyster and Golisopod as well.

First time I fought UN it was over so quickly. Was playing with Exp. Share off besides grinding, but with refresh boosts. Decidueye lives a photon geyser on 1HP thanks to refresh, OHKO’s with a crit sinister arrow raid.

Honestly I turned my game off and fought the good fight a few times, eventually took it down legit with Araquanid’s mirror coat. One of the best moments in the franchise, pure kino.

That's what made S/US so fun for me. I had little trouble with any of the games even as a kid, but now totems were the first time I had to actually think a bit about my party comp or try using status moves instead of 4 attacks. Ultra necrozma was the first time I ever used a n X item, and it was the first time I ever got swept, and shit like smart strike surprised me.

Outside of some of the Totems, Necrozma, and a few of the later Trainer/Double battles, the game was pretty easy. Necrozma and his Ultra instinct form were such jarring difficulty spikes that it took me by surprise given how much the rest of the game was easy to get through.
