There are rosette printing patterns on the official reference art. I wanted to see if 4chan posting would compress that away to compare to the starter concepts

Im thinking the opposite. The water starter has noise, not a print pattern. Also there are low quality printing lines that we don't see on the official art since the references seem printed and scanned

No it's not. Also the linework on the fake is also terrible. Notice how the lines on Incineroar's abdomen stripes are relatively close to the same thickness as the outline of its body? Meanwhile on the shitty platypus fakemon, the stripes on its back are way too thin compared to the outline. It's fake as fuck and doesn't resemble the official art style at all.

i'll agree with you that the linework looks more sloppy on platty (especially at the top of his left hip pointing upwards) but the thickness of the line is kind of pushing it

I'm on the fence about them. They look alright, but the lines on the SM leaks look rougher on the outline and the shading while the lines and Shading look a lot more polished and almost finished on the supposed leak.
