I'll preface this by saying that I work in marketing for Nintendo of America.

Later today we'll be putting out an announcement for the next Direct (in the afternoon for Japan), the details that have been sent our way are scarce, but they're enough to make out a few things. Non-Pokémon related we have the N. Sane Trilogy, a few more ports of 2016 games, though not much concrete in that area. The actually important part is the Pokémon announcement. While we don't have access to what specifically it entails, we do know enough to hint at it for the Direct tease on Twitter.

We've been told that it's a nostalgic announcement, but still a new game. That it will tie in to the legendary campaign they're pushing for this year which will culminate with the release of a brand new event Pokémon (I assume this is Zeraora, and much like Marshadow it will tie in with the Lugia/2018 movie). The way they worded it makes us believe it's not a new generation, contrary to the fake leaks that have already been surfacing, but instead, a remake. Now, while they did not announce what generation the remake would entail, I've had a sneaking suspicion ever since the campaign was first announced and the first two months comprised of Palkia, Dialga, Regigigas and Heatran. https://youtu.be/BNnaJZ8Z4EY

Now while I can't guarantee they will be DPPt remakes, and to know for sure you'll have to stick around for the end of the Direct, but at least I figured you guys could speculate on some concrete leads.
