They can't predict the future, my boy, what's your point. Game Freak shilling as usual, what else is new. Greninja at least was acceptable, at least up until Ash-Greninja happened and led to all these starter wars eventually.

Grass starters always get the short end of the stick, girl-intended starters always get shoved to side unless for "cutesy performances", forced cool stunt pokemon always presented.

Not new at all. If only Game Freak did something different for once, then I'd care.

Gen 6 plushies had a lot of problems. Mega Gardevoir/Gallade were terrible. They've gotten a lot better with Gen 7... For the most part.

I've been seriously collecting since gen 4 and I'd say it's just as inconsistent as ever. The only definite low period was some of the merch during gen 5, Pokemon plushies in general got shafted in favor of pandering to fujoshits I guess.

That's the main reason Greninja became as big as it did. When we didn't know its hidden ability, only its design/base stats, it was shitposted about a lot. Smash might have helped, though. Or just have made Mewtwofags more angry.

No it wasn't. The leaked pictures had horrible quality so most folks were misjudging. Once the Greninja in amie pics leaked people immediately started loving it and prefering it to the other 3. And that was more than a week before stats came out. Then the stats and ability just sealed the deal.

Well yeah, because there were more Froakie fans than anything else by that point, unless you were a furry. It was overwhelmingly the popular choice by the time midstages were revealed, so the fact that the final evolution lost the bubbles and got an edgey head pissed a lot of people off. Until they realized they still "objectively" won the starter wars because Greninja has protean.
