Yes, the hivemind is the only reason ORAS is hated. Couldn't possibly be because of the post-game that's worse than Emerald, the customization that was in XY but left out for no reason, the campaign being casualized to hell and back, or the fact that they barely fixed any of the region''s original problems.

No, in the originals you could go to the bottom floor to catch Aron/Sableye/Mawile. In ORAS you can't and you need to backtrack all the way back to fucking Dewford once you get the bike if you want any of those Pokemon. It's fucking terrible design and it's just less exploration when you initially visit the cave.

you get the bike before the next gym and you are returning in either games to explore the upper section

And yes, the main purpose of the cave is simpler. This entire argument is about the trend of simplifying caves in relation to a possible DP remake. They would absolutely do it.
They simplified areas like Sky Pillar in ORAS, and SM had extremely simple caves. They don't care about exploration any more.

I think it was probably because they always intended the cave to be explored post-brawly, because it is dark
they realized people explored the dark segments anyways, and changed it accordingly
