>>34963589Not him, the anime isn't early - but it's at its midpoint so far if you look at A) The pacing and B) the number of episodes. People will make irrelevant comments about the pacing because they believe that they can round up the series in 5 episodes, but that's not how it ever goes. You could probably wrap up most gens in about 30 episodes, but typically there are 160-190 episodes per generation and Gen 7 is only at 60-something.
The interesting thing about the pacing is that a new arc has started with the Ultra Guardians, which is marking a shift in the tone of the series. We've gone from Ash having an adventure, to a Slice of Life series about Ash and his Ultra Guardian friends in a high school setting and their daily adventures, it certainly looks like they're putting the breaks on the pace of the series so far because there's less emphasis on traveling across the islands directly.
