Been playing Emerald on my phone lately, and so far my team is Swampert, Breloom, Gardevoir, Flygon and Dusclops, any advice on who should be my sixth party member? I'm kinda divided between a Steel or an Electric type.

This is the quintessential normie Emerald team. Only points you get is Dusclops. If you want to retain any shred of dignity you may still have, I recommend Heracross (normie in later gens but not in 3) or Dodrio

I'd go Manectric. His special attack isn't much lower than Magneton's, he's a Hoenn Pokemon, he learns Bite and he can learn Iron Tail from a TM. So he's got a bit more versatility than Magneton, who won't get any offensive Steel moves.

well yeah, but magneton has levitate, which makes him immune to ground attacks, and he can withstand more damage than manectric, evn tough magneton's slower than him

I wouldn't be too concerned about incoming damage in-game. Manectric will outspeed nearly everything and will probably OHKO them too.

Every time I used replay emerald I would very often reuse the same team cuz I'm attached to em. Manectric isn't an astounding pokemon but he carries his weight pretty well in the maingame. Like every other gen 3 mon he just suffers from a poor moveset. Save a thunderbolt for him.

Little to none. Only other reliable moves you can teach it besides the few powerful electric moves is Crunch which is only a baby move from breeding. Bite exists I guess. Maybe give it rain dance to compliment Thunder.

Does Emerald just have really high Experience yields? Because I replayed Ruby (After going out of my way to fight all the trainers and by the time I finished Victory Road, my team was lv40 across the board.
