>>34969282>Incineroar's awful proportionsAnon... it has the same proportions
>Who cares if it doesn't have as obvious a personality? You may not, but other people certainly do. That's sort of the magic of opinions. Anyway, without a personality attached it's pretty much just a boring fire cat. Wheras Incineroar has a wrestler theme, a neat looking belt, and an best color scheme to fall back on even. Gen VII has a big focus on the Pokémon moving and being animated; they're designed for 3D, unlike, say, Gen I mons which were designed to be viewable on the gameboy screen. The movements and personality are better integrated with and are essentially a part of Pokemon's overall designs this gen, so they should be taken into consideration. If it were a Gen III mon I wouldn't mind it; wouldn't pay much attention to it, but wouldn't mind it much. I don't mind it either now, but when weighted next to Gen VII's design philosophy and the much more interesting Incineroar, Torracat is pretty forgettable to me.
Essentially, to me Torracat represents the biggest negatives of the line. None of Incineroar's other themes, but none of Litten's stoic personality that really brings it to life. It's just a fire cat, which isn't interesting in the slightest after 6 generations of monsters that are just an animal combined with an element. You can like if if you want; I'm not saying you shouldn't or anything, but understand that your standards are ultimately subjective, and other people have their own.
