>>349838943. Team Skull / Aether Foundation. I didn’t like 7th gen that much, but the Team Skull fucking worked. The street gang vibe, the self-proclaimed villainy in contrast to how the whole region sees them like petty trouble-maker, the family-like unity they have, the music, all worked and made them credible, even if they are just a bunch of rejects. GF realized that too much admins are useless and gave them just one, and worked too. Pity that even Guzma reformed in the end, but absolutely in-character. Regarding the Aether, they’re not plain villains, but there are some shadows on them. Lusamine aside, who we know is batshit crazy, the Aether scientists are very eerie and also responsible for the creation of Type Null, that seems an atrocity against nature. Faba is probably the greatest asshole of all Pokemon franchise, and I like him for this.
2. Team Plasma. These guys shook the basis of humans and Pokémon co-existence, and, as villains, deserve respect just for this. From the cult-like group of the first games, they evolved in an explicit terroristic organization, maybe the most violent of all the teams, succeeding in freezing a whole city and willing to do the same in all the region. I like almost every team member: Zinzolin, cold hater and ice-type specialist, has a deep life philosophy (“Right now, I’m shivering, I’m suffering, but I’m alive”); Colress, one of my all time favorite, wants to bring out the potential of Pokémon, and is ready to use any means necessary, good or bad, but is an all around interesting and funny guy, loved his cameo in SM/USUM. Then there is Ghetsis, maybe the craziest villain of the series. People says he became a flat character in the sequels, from a cunning chess master to an outright monster who is ready to kill the PC and can’t stand the presence of N. I can’t agree with them:
