Go to your local vintage game store, most of them host card game sessions alongside stuff like dnd and comic books. One of mine even has a calendar on the wall saying when it has certain opens.

Leagues are just that. They're a casual get together where people play the cards together for the fun of it. They hold events on occasions, but those usually aren't during league times.

Going to my league is one of the major highlights of my week. Can't recommend you try it enough.
