>>349997931 use TMs are only good if you can buy them all again unlimitedly in the postgame. This would be the best balance of having to make choices during the playthrough while still letting you use whatever pokemon postgame. Gamefreak is shit for never doing this in the earlier gens.
HMs are nice because it ties your party pokemon to exploring. I like how ORAS had the different surf models with different buffs and wish that was expanded on instead of Rides.
RB being better than their remakes isn't too far off. The new types in dark and steel are almost absent. Most genwun mons had very minor abilities (with notable exception in Intimidate on Gyarados) so losing them doesn't have an impact on playing. A lot of mons gets worse with the special split like Gyarados, so even its ability buff doesn't make up for it. Many mons actually lose viability in the remakes like Dugtrio and Persian due to the crit mechanics being changed. Natures, EVs, etc. being absent in RB make it much easier to enjoy without worrying about that. Basically most of the genwun mons were made with genwun mechanics in mind and don't really appreciate the move to gen3.
Hau is gay
Physical/Special split was needed to add more variety to mon design and niches.
Gamefreak a shit and won't improve the game with another year of dev time, so this is whatever.
