>>35009561I played Cybersleuth and, no, it's not better than Pokémon.
It has more pointless cutscenes. By the end of the game I was getting tired of my goddess Maaya Sakamoto's voice.
Barring the dungeons, which all look the same, all the locations are basically corridors. Shinjuku and Shibuya are specially at fault.
The game if full of padding. A lot of time, you have to talk to Kiyoko, then go talk to an NPC in someplace who will then send a job to the detective agency and only then you will start a quest.
The Digifarm quests are terrible.
Putting the Royal Knights behind a lock until the very late game was a fucking turndown for me. I spent the whole game training an MegaloGrowmon and and DORUgreymon with the right stats and still couldn't digivolve then until the last moment.
The english translation is terrible. A lot of time Arata calls the Eater's "bakemono" and it gets translated as "Bakemon". There are a lot of errors like this, so much that if you can't understand japanese you actually can get the wrong idea of what's happening.
The games were fucking repetitive. Between having to devolve and evolve continually to raise max level and abi and having to go to the same places over and over again it gets mindboggingly boring. And, yes, I was using triple Platinum time nearly always. It's still a fucking chore.
The memory system. It's honestly stupid and the fact that it's tied to items only makes it worse.
The best thing about that game is Yuuko.
