this is a popular duality theme in Japan, post Pokemon that fit this, anime, game, manga, tcg, whatever

this is why I think Incineroar and Zeraora will have something

Hurts my autism. I wanted to use a team of bipedal dark cats with the fire/ice/lightning trio but oh well

It's a combination of a black cat and a kamaitachi, an icy blade weasel yokai

We've been over this. It looks nothing like a weasel, but it has the lore of one. Pokemon can be based on more than one thing.

How don't you? It has retractable claws, says "nya," and acts like a cat in Pokken. Hell it even learns the cat themed moves like Assist and Fake Out.

Anime weasels look more like dogs, or like Furret.

Jap fanbase is pretty convinced it's a cat; it's only the localization that leave out the "stray cat" part in its name and only focus on the weasel aspect.

Jynx got the third elemental punch, a baby grouped with the other two in Gen II with an identical evolution level, and, outside of the ingame trade, was only available in the wild in Jap Blue while Magmar and Electabuzz could only be found in Green and Red respectively.

Of course, given its reputation, no wonder they left Jynx in the dust and made the other two a pair later on.

In Gen II I'm pretty sure Jynx and Magmar had similar movepool levels, while Electabuzz was the odd one out.
