The 3DS models are extremely decent. Just swapping out the textures for better ones would make things look really good; or maybe they'd use the models from the Pokedex app.

Yes. It was the closest we had to a Stadium 3 and it flopped. Don't expect anything similar for the switch.

OP here. Maybe it's been awhile since people played Battle Revolution but my point was that it ended up nothing like the first trailer. It was massively disappointing in comparison to what they showed

They already have better textures, they just render them at low resolutions on the 3DS. Pokemon GO makes use of them.
What we really need are better/more animations. I fired up the old Gamecube games recently and saw a Salamence. It was STANDING. On the GROUND. And it moved around, instead of looking like some fucked up alien croissant hovering in the air, motionless.

I've seen the textures rendered correctly on the emulators and from poketubers uploading battles. I still think we need better ones; they aren't exactly outstanding by any means.
