I'll never forget this one. Cradily, the markings on it's head are it's eyes and the yellow bulbs inside the dark are it's teeth.

For the longest time I always thought Bronzong's face looked like this and the eyes were just weird patterns. (Hideous picture but hopefully you get the idea.)

The first time I saw Gardevoir was its tiny textbox sprite from Pokémon Mystery Dungeon, and for ages I thought that it was supposed to be some kind of duck because the hair on the right looked like a beak.

The genius of this is that Cradily's eyes make it look a bit goofy but actually has more intimidating eyes, whereas Armaldo looks more intimidating until you see it's real eyes where it looks sillier. Kind of genius honestly.

i used to view the red thing in the middle as a nose instead of it's real eye and I hated Magnezone for years because of it. Looks pretty cool now though

Even though I know its eyes are on the side I still gravitate toward seeing the middle as its eye. I think it's cooler and more robotic looking.

Wobbufett's actual body is its strange black tail. What you might think is the actual pokemon is just a large blue appendage meant to act as decoy and defense against against enemies, hence why it's designed after a punching bag that just keeps getting back up.

Binacle doesn't have an angry clown face. It's heads are mostly featureless(except for the eyes) and is surrounded by a brown rocky casing.

Cradily is an example of a good, successful design. The fake eyespots are more than likely SUPPOSED to fool the onlooker.
Not directed at you, anon, but a good design is not all about what looks "cute"; functionality and other factors are just as important.
