Well as we have learned from the lack of Lunatone/Solrock in Sun and Moon, Plusle and Minun will have nothing to do with a game called "Plus and Minus" despite the obvious connection

I mean, they did predict the Switch correctly. The Plus/Minus rumor described the Switch pretty well, mentioning a hybrid that docks/undocks. And this was, of course, before it was ever shown. It's definitely not out of the question. Plus, this rumor came out around the same time that we now know Switch dev kits were being distributed to a few development teams close to Nintendo, likely including Gamefreak.

Hmm, thinking about it, I'm almost convinced it could mean something, especially if that's a new Pikachu in the middle. All of the eeveelutions are in dex order in this picture (except the Jolteon that may have fallen off of the top shelf or something), but Plusle is to the right of Minun, so opposite dex order, but in the order of the Joy Cons. So I could see it being a hint, but it would be hard to prove, even after the reveal. I don't know if it would be a hint at Plus/Minus versions, I kind of just think it would be the colors are the only real hint, but we'll see if anything comes of it
